Investigation of Korean Native Chinese Chives on Flower Bud Differentiation

Abstract
The studies were carried out to observe the flower bud differentiation and development processes of korean native Chinese chives species. The results were as follows;
Their flower bud differentiation was on stage I $gt; stage II $gt; primordium $gt;spathe $gt; perianthium 1 $gt; perianthium 2 $gt; androecium 1 $gt; androecium 2 $gt; gynoecium, that was the same process as other Allium genus plants.
Their differentiation processes were observed from March to May. A.splendens was the first to be done on March 12, although A.senescens var. minor and A.cyaneum were followed on March 21 and 28. A.thunbergii, A. sacculiferum and A.deltoide fistulosum were differentiated an the same day, April 10. A.senescens was the last done on May 3.
The flowering time was mainly divided into three groups; July,September and October species. A.senescens var. minor and A.splendens, July species, bloomed on July 6 and 13, respectively. A.senescens and A.cyaneum, September species, did on September 7 and 21, respectively. A.sacculiferurn, A.thunbergii and A.deltoide fistulosum, October species, did on October 5,12 and 19, respectively.
